Was it really that difficult? Get runners on early in the inning, then knock those runs in.

They had two innings last night to do just that, but couldn't do it.

Another walk by Pena. Nice.

I noticed the grip tape on Pena's bat the other day. It's pretty rare these days to see a MLB player tape his bat like that.

I believe this is relatively new for him. I mean, I don't recall him batting with grip tape on the handle in the past. I could be wrong of course. Certainly wouldn't be the first time.

It had to be the striped stirrups.

I fully endorse them.

2 hits against Rodrigo Lopez. :???:

This team needs another consistent .300 hitter in the middle of the lineup. The poor ability to hit for average on this team is the only reason I'll hate to see Carl Crawford leave.

And another complete failure by our offense wastes a nicely pitched game by Davis. Blalock doesn't even look like a professional hitter, and Upton is just bad. Yeah, he almost pulled off a miracle in the 9th. But he was hitless for the series and got picked off yet again, while watching numerous strike 3's go by. It drives me nuts when he turns to bitch about the call too, because anyone can see that the pitch is close enough to swing at. Except him of course.

Blalock looked great in AAA, but is Burrell-esque here. Time for Dan Johnson!

How long can Friedman and Maddon let this team reel?

Let's face it, the DH position is just cursed in Tampa Bay.

Blalock actually didn't look too bad yesterday. He had a walk and a hit, The problem is Maddon needs to put Carlos back in the 7th spot and stop changing the freaking line up. He benched S-Rod for like 3 or 4 games when Bartlett came back and Rodriguez was hot before he had to sit for 3 or 4 games in a row. If only Maddon would stop messing with the line up when we find something good. I mean Bartlett did not have to go right back in the line up as soon as he got back. Somethings Maddon does is idiotic and when he notices problems he waits way too long to make changes.

Rodriguez has started all but two games in June and he played in one of those games.
