Edward R. Benesh (born December 18, 1974 in Chicago Heights, IL) was a pitcher in the Tampa Bay Devil Rays minor league system. He was signed by the Devil Rays as an amateur free agent on July 8, 1996 by Mark McKnight.[1]

Before the Devil Rays
Benesh played college baseball at the University of South Carolina.
Professional career
Beginning with the Advanced-Rookie Butte Copper Kings in 1996, Ed Benesh was moved up each of his seasons in the Devil Rays organization. He spent 1997 with the Class-A Charleston RiverDogs (where he found his greatest professional success, finishing 40 games to a record of 4-4, with a 1.95 ERA and 15 saves) and 1998 with the Advanced-A St. Petersburg Devil Rays.
After the Devil Rays
Benesh played in 1999 for the Duluth-Superior Dukes of the independent Northern League.
